My GCSE and A-Level students have managed to get exceptional grades in their English and were admitted to highest ranking and prestigious universities. - In my 11+ coaching, alongside working on necessary topics, I also aim to boost the pupil`s reasoning capacity and confidence; when we get closer to the test, I teach them time management skills and strategies as how to do a test in most effective ways. - In 11+ English, while working on a rich word bank with exclusive methods that I have developed, comprehension is the main focus of teaching as during all these years I have noticed this is the area where most students need help and support. Creative writing is another area of focus for some of 11+ tests which I cover thoroughly. - In GCSE and A-Level English, we focus on how to read texts with insight, how to express ideas and how to turn ideas into well-presented written English to get full mark. I usually present various ways of doing it so that the pupil can pick the way suits her/him; this helps them to learn new ways as well as develop their own personal study habits and strategies. - In Maths, for years I have been using Singapore method which has proven to be the most effective method to help students tackle all kinds of Maths problems specially word problems which is the area where students need most help. Building up confidence, encouraging independent learning and working on strategies to achieve better results in tests are the core elements of my teaching methods. I use everyday objects as well as high-end technology to make learning interactive, fun and relevant. My second to none rich and up-to-date archive of standardised and professionally designed papers/tests (based on national curriculum) and different formats (CEM, GL, ISEB, etc) enables me to assess/monitor the progress of the pupils and implement any changes needed. I do take into account that each student may have his/her own learning style. That is why my main focus is initially on identifying individual student needs and customising lessons and homework accordingly.
