• Coach and tutor Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 students preparing for 11 plus and/or Independent Schools Entrance Exams • Help pupils to gain confidence in the areas they feel less comfortable • Help and prepare pupils for a confident classroom presence and a higher SAT level in order to secure a place in the top Maths, English and Science groups/sets in their secondary school • Make learning joyful and develop skills and strategies for independent learning and self-belief • Supplement what is missing in mainstream schooling, which is mainly lack of tailored support • Advise parents how to encourage efficient learning routines I am warm and friendly and gear my teaching towards each pupil’s individual needs and provide an individual lesson plan for every single pupil. Building up confidence, encouraging independent learning and working on strategies to achieve better results in tests are the core elements of my teaching methods. I use everyday objects as well as high-end technology to make learning interactive, fun and relevant. My second to none rich and up-to-date archive of standardised and professionally designed papers/tests (based on national curriculum) and different formats (CEM, GL, ISEB, etc) enables me to assess/monitor the progress of the pupils and implement any changes needed. I do take into account that each student may have his/her own learning style. That is why my main focus is initially on identifying individual student needs and customising lessons and homework accordingly.
